Former Trinidad Triggers Pitcher Ke

Former Trinidad Triggers Pitcher Kevin McGovern was the winning pitcher in the Championship Game of the American Association. McGovern helped lead the Goldeyes over the Wichita Wingnuts 3 games to 2.

McGovern pitched for the Trinidad Triggers in 2014 before being sent to the Lincoln Saltdogs. Lincoln then traded him North of the border to Winnipeg.

Joe Robinson of Trinidad has been named Post Season Pitcher of the Year.

Joe turned in great starts in all three rounds of the Playoffs for the Trinidad Triggers. In Round 1 he picked up the win against the Topeka Train Robbers going 6 innings allowing 2 runs. In Round 2 he beat Garden City in the third and deciding game of the series 11-1. In the Finals Joe pitched 7 innings allowing one run against Trinidad. He left with a 4-1 lead. The Triggers would not hold on the lead.

Tucson Saguaros 5 Trinidad Triggers 4 The Tucson Saguaros win the 2016 Pecos League Championship. The Saguaros rallied to score 4 runs in the 9th to defeat the Trinidad Triggers. With the win the Saguaros are the 2016 Pecos League Champions.

The Trinidad Triggers got a great performance from Joe Robinson who pitched 7 innings only allowing 1 run. Jason Webb hit a two run homer to give the Triggers a 3-1 lead.

The Triggers took a 4-1 lead into the 9th inning. Toby Eigner allowed a Michael Rampone single. Ryan Retz was hit in the helmet. Then Jimmy Heck advanced on a key error by the left fielder. Jesse Baker hit a single to right filed. Adam Urbania walked. Christian Schneider came in relief and got Tanner Geisel to hit a sac fly to the tie the game. With Thomas McKenna at bat Jesse Baker scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

Tucson, Arizona- The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Trinidad Triggers 11 to 6 to take game 1. Trinidad jumped out to a five run first inning lead with consecutive hits from Trevor Sealy, Edmond Cheatum and Caleb Baker. Brian Frazier then hit a SAC Fly deep to the 2nd baseman to score another run. J Webb singled in another run and Bradley Cuyos doubled in the final run of the inning.

The Triggers held the lead until the 3rd inning. Michael Rampone singled driving in Burnell Dailey. The Saguaros then struck with their big blow. Ryan Retz hit a grand slam scoring Michael Morris, Michael Rampone, and Steven Borkowski.

In the 4th Michael Morris drove in Tanner Giesel.

In the 5th Nick Tordero drove in Caleb Baker.

In the Bottom of the 5th Burnell Dailey singled in Jesse Baker. Michael Morris drove in Burnell Dailey.

In the bottom of the 6th the Saguaros struck again with Ryan Retz advancing on a passed ball. Adam Urbania homered to give the Saguaros their 11th run.

On the mound for Trinidad:

  • TJ Zarewicz pitched 3.2 innings allowing 6 runs.
  • Daniel Karansinski pitched 1.2 innings allowing 2 runs.
  • Paul Fahey pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing 2 runs.

  • Eric Williams pitched 2 scoreless innings for the Triggers.

Joe Robinson lead the Triggers pitching staff by pitching 6 innings for his second playoff win of the week for the Triggers. Joe allowed 7 hits with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. Daniel Karasinski, Jake Swartout and Toby Eigner pitched 1 inning of scoreless ball for the Triggers.

Erik Poldroo went 4-5 with a homer and 3 rbis to lead the Triggers. John Nicholson was 3-4 with 3 rbis for the Triggers.

Joey Cecere went 3-3 for the Garden City Wind.

With the win the Trinidad Triggers will advance to the Pecos League Finals where they will face either the Tucson Saguaros on Tuesday or the Roswell Invaders on Sunday. Those two teams are playing in the Southern Division Finals in Tucson.

Garden City Wind 5 Trinidad Triggers 3 Garden City, Kansas-The Garden City Wind evened the three games series at a game a piece with the Trinidad Triggers on Thursday Night. connor Kelly pitched 7 innings for the Wind allowing 3 runs while striking out 6. Charles Bahn pitched a scoreless 8th and Chris Gammon closed the 9th to preserve the win. Christian Schneider pitched 5-2/3 innings for the Triggers allowing 5 runs. Scott Stonestreet came on in the 6th inning to escape the inning without allowing a run. Dominic Monda pitched 1-2/3 innings of scoreless ball. Carl Brice came on to get the last out in the 8th inning for the Triggers.

John Nicholson continued to carry the hot bat for the Triggers he hit a two run homer in the 2nd. Willie Ethington hit a huge 3 run homer in the 6th. Manny Colon followed him with a solo homer of his own to give the Wind a 5-2 lead. The Triggers would score one run in the 7th but that would be the end of the scoring.

The two teams will connect for the third and deciding game of the three game series tonight in Garden City. The winner will travel to face the winner of Roswell and Tucson for the Pecos League Championship.

Garden City, Kansas-The Trinidad Triggers took game one of the best of three series on Wednesday Night at Clint Lightner Field. Garden City jumped on Trinidad starter Kyle McKay who allowed 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning including a three run homer by Eli Roundtree.

The Triggers chipped away and chased starter Austin Boyle from the game after 5 innings. John Nicholson had key rbi doubles in both the 3rd and 4th innings where the Triggers scored two runs in each inning. Cameron Powers pitched a scoreless 6th for the Wind. In the 7th inning the Triggers scored three runs off of reliever Craig Jaquez and another run off of Chip White to take a 9-5 lead. Eli Roundtree doubled in another run in the 7th for Garden City but that would be all the offense the Wind could generate.

On the mound for the Triggers Daniel Karasinki helped Kyle McKay get out of the first inning and pitched another scoreless inning. Jake Swartout pitched two scoreless innings Eric Williams pitched three innings allowing two runs, but also went 2-4 at the plate as a hitter. Dominic Monda and Paul Fahey combined to pitch a scoreless 8th Toby Eigner pitched another scoreless 9th for the Triggers.

The two teams meet again Thursday Night for Game 2 in Garden City. Start time is 6:30 CST.

The Trinidad Triggers have defeated

The Trinidad Triggers have defeated the Topeka Train Robbers 2 games to 0 to advance to the Northern Division Finals. Trindad defeated the Triggers 6-4 and 4-2 to win their first playoff series in team history. The Triggers have made the playoffs in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 but never advanced past the first round.

The Triggers will now travel to Garden City to face the Garden City Wind in the Northern Division Finals in Garden City beginning 8/3/2016.

Brian Frazier went 3-3 at the plate, helping the Trinidad Triggers (2-0) to a 4-2 victory over the Topeka Train Robbers (0-2) on Sunday at Central Park. He homered in the second inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Chris Scura went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Topeka Train Robbers. He singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.

Joe Robinson improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed two runs over six innings. Robinson struck out two, walked one and gave up six hits.

Logan Truex (0-1) took the loss for the Topeka Train Robbers. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed two runs.

The Trinidad Triggers (1-0) and the Topeka Train Robbers (0-1) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Trinidad Triggers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-4 win at Central Park.

Brian Frazier racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Trinidad Triggers. He homered in the third inning.

The Trinidad Triggers relied on Thomas Zarewicz to eat up innings en route to the win. Zarewicz allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Ian Horne reached base three times in the game for the Topeka Train Robbers. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Nick Hernandez (0-1) was the games losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out two.

The Trinidad Triggers (35-29) and the Garden City Wind (38-26) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Trinidad Triggers that eventually took advantage of them in a 4-3 win at Clint Lightner.

Jason Webb got on base two times in the game for the Trinidad Triggers. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth inning.

Denver Diefenbachs eight strikeouts were enough to push the Trinidad Triggers past the Garden City Wind. Diefenbach allowed three earned runs, 11 hits and three walks over nine innings.

Beau Welborn led the Garden City Winds offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Scott Torrey (5-2) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The Garden City Wind (38-25) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 14-2 to the Trinidad Triggers (34-29) on Wednesday.

A three-run home run by Jason Webb gave the Trinidad Triggers the lead in the fifth inning.

The Trinidad Triggers blew out the Garden City Wind thanks to 16 hits, including zero extra base hits. A two-run home run by Edmund Cheatham and a two-run home run by Daniel Karasinski helped the Trinidad Triggers score four runs in the eighth. The Trinidad Triggers had three hits in the inning.

Nick Todero racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He singled in the third and fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Eric Williams recorded his second win of the year for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed one run over three innings. Williams struck out four, walked three and gave up three hits.

Ryan Riordan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

The Trinidad Triggers hammered the Garden City Wind pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 11 hits, 13 RBIs and nine runs scored.

A walk-off two-run blast from Clay Ardeeser brought home the winning run for the Garden City Wind (38-24) in a 5-4 victory over the Trinidad Triggers at Clint Lightner on Tuesday.

Ardeeser racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Garden City Wind. He homered in the ninth inning.

DJ Carr allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Cameron Powers improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Garden City Wind. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Monda ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs. With the win Garden City is locked into the #1 seed and will host the 2nd round of the playoffs beginning Wed August 3rd.

Bradley Cuyos racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Austin Boyle racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Garden City Wind. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Joe Robinson recorded his fourth win of the year for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed three runs over five innings. Robinson struck out four, walked four and gave up six hits.

Boyle couldnt get it done on the bump for the Garden City Wind, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out 10, and allowed five runs.

A five-run explosion in the fifth inning carried the Topeka Train Robbers (25-31) to an 8-2 win in seven innings over the Trinidad Triggers at Central Park on Tuesday.

The Topeka Train Robbers scored in the fifth on a solo home run by Gabriel Acevedo, a two-run double by Ian Horne, a fielders choice, and an error.

Acevedo racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Topeka Train Robbers.

The Topeka Train Robbers got the win thanks in large part to Logan Truexs dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Truex allowed two earned runs, nine hits and two walks over seven innings.

Brian Frazier boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Trinidad Triggers (31-28). He singled in the first and fourth innings.

Daniel Karasinski couldnt get it done on the hill for the Trinidad Triggers, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Johnathon Valenzuela-Reece went 2-3, helping the Topeka Train Robbers (24-30) to a 4-3 victory over the Trinidad Triggers (30-27) on Monday at Central Park. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.

The Trinidad Triggers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Brian Frazier, who went 2-2 against the Topeka Train Robbers pitching. He homered in the third inning.

Tuesday was a great day for Eric Magee, as he hit two home runs to carry the Trinidad Triggers (17-9) to an 11-2 victory over the Salina Stockade (11-13) at Central Park in seven innings.

Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Trinidad Triggers to easily put away the Salina Stockade. An RBI single by Eric Williams in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Trinidad Triggers.

Denver Diefenbach struck out seven, paving the way for a the Trinidad Triggers win. Diefenbach allowed one earned run, seven hits and three walks over six innings.

Dalton Bernardi (1-2) took the loss for the Salina Stockade. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked six and struck out four.

Sealey helps the Trinidad Triggers down the Garden City Wind 3-2

Trevor Sealey collected three hits, helping the Trinidad Triggers (1-1) to a 3-2 victory over the Garden City Wind (1-1) on Friday. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

The Trinidad Triggers relied on Christian Schneider to eat up innings en route to the win. Schneider allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Craig Jaquez was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Trinidad Triggers batters and allowing three runs.

Eli Roundtree was hot from the plate for the Garden City Wind. Roundtree went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Jaquez took the loss for the Garden City Wind.

The Garden City Wind (1-0) beat the Trinidad Triggers (0-1) 5-2 on Thursday at Clint Lightner behind Ken Olszewski, who drove in three runs. He homered in the eighth inning.

Austin Boyle had an impressive outing against the Trinidad Triggers lineup. The Trinidad Triggers managed just two hits off of the the Garden City Winds pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Trinidad Triggers Joe Robinson dominated the Garden City Winds batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.

Pedro Bacame got the win for the Garden City Wind. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. Bacame struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jake Swartout was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The Trinidad Triggers are pleased to announce Royce Holder will return for the 2016 season. Holder lead the Triggers to their all time best record of 43-18 in 2015. The Triggers won the Northern Division.
