JD Droddy is proud to unveil the Trinidad Triggers Baggage Wagon. JD has spent the last several weeks building it from his home in Alamogordo. The Triggers 2012 schedule had them home 10 days and away 10 days do to their isolated location from the rest of the league. One of the hassles the Triggers faced was dealing with equipment. In 2013 the Triggers will be dealing with much shorter trips due to the new Northern Divison of the League. It looks the Triggers will be riding in style. Triggers Luis Pardo Goes to Orioles

Luis Pardo, the ace of the Trinidad Triggers pitching staff in 2012, is headed to the minor league Spring Training camp of the Baltimore Orioles. Pardo was 4-3 in 2012, with an ERA of 7.8 in the hitter-friendly Pecos League. His ERA was inflated by one bad outing, which came on his birthday July 14, in which he gave up 14 earned runs in 2 1/3 innings. Bad outings, however, were rare for Pardo. His 92 mph fastball had excellent movement and outstanding control. He had 53 strikeouts and 25 bases-on-balls for a strikeouts-to-walks ratio of 2.12.

"The bottom line for Luis is that he combines power with movement and control," said JD Droddy, Field Manager of the Triggers who was the team’s Assistant Manager in 2012. "He really knows how to pitch, which is even more important than raw skills. We"re confident that he will do well in affiliated baseball. And, he is a great team mate. We will all be cheering for him," Droddy added.

Trinidad Triggers Name Alex Ferguson Assistant Manager

Alex Ferguson, 32, Head Baseball coach at Principia College (Illinois), has joined the Trinidad Triggers" staff as Assistant Manager. The Triggers operate in Trinidad, Colorado, as one of ten teams in the independent Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs, which has teams in Colorado, New Mexico,and Texas. Ferguson has been head baseball coach at Principia since July 2011. Prior to that, he was Head Baseball Coach and Adjunct Instructor of Sports Management at Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He has a B.A. in Sports Management and an M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning – Health, Physical Education, and Coaching.

In addition to his head coaching experience, Ferguson has served as an instructor/coach for the Tom Urquhart School of Baseball in Overland Park, Kansas, Assistant Baseball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Northern State University, as well as several other baseball positions. TRIGGERS SIGN DIVISION I ALL AMERICAN JUSTIN KLINE - Justin Kline of Aberdeen, South Dakota, has accepted the Triggers offer to play in 2013. Kline is a 6"1", 190 pound, catcher. He was the 2008 South Dakota Player of the Year. At NCAA Division I North Dakota State University, Kline was a 2009 Louisville Slugger All-American, as well as being named a 2009 Ping Baseball All-American. He made 29 of this 33 starts in 2009 behind the plate. He finished seventh in the NCAA Divi sion I Stats with a .439 batting average. He led the Bison in slugging (.576) and on-base percentage (.503) and was second in stolen bases. After playing for NDSU for two years, he transferred to Presentation College in his home town, where his father was the athletic director. At presentation, he was coached by the Triggers new Assistant Manager, Alex Ferguson. The Triggers are excited to have Justin in a Triggers uniform in 2013. We are expecting a big contribution from him at the plate and on defense.

Triggers meet with City Officials in Trinidad

JD Droddy and Kim Schultz met with City Officials in Trinidad to discuss the current situation of the Triggers. As of Halloween the Trinidad Triggers appeared that they were done. Not due to lack of support but due to political issues. There was a disagreement and misunderstanding about the Triggers and Trinidad State Junior College. And with no City Attorney and no City Manager there was no authority on who to turn to.

Today Kim Schultz and JD Droddy met with Trinidad City Manager Ralph Gagliardi, Trinidad Mayor Bernadette Baca Gonzalez, Trinidad State Junior College, President Dr. Charles Bohlen, Rich Holden and Coach Torrez from TSJC.

The purpose of the meeting was try to resolve issues and allow to the Triggers to have an option to play in Trinidad. The big issue at hand was the condition of the playing surface at Central Park. There had been accusations that the Triggers had badly damaged the playing surface which would cost TSJC money to repair. JD Droddy made very clear that this was not correct and had people on hand to testify in his defense. Once the discussions of conditions of the field were addressed the meeting was positive. Trinidad State Junior College will support the Triggers playing in Trinidad and agree that the Triggers are good for the community. There was a main disagreement of the condition of the field from when the Triggers arrived to when they ended. Many people believe the field was in much better shape. Should the Triggers play again in Trinidad in 2013, there would be a memorandum of understanding between TSJC and the Pecos League about expectations. Everyone agreed that the Triggers are very good for Trinidad. We were going to establish lines of communication. The Triggers also need to recognize and support TSJC in a better manner.

"Put us back on the schedule" says JD Droddy," I want to be in Trinidad, this is the best city in the Pecos League by far. We have great support from everyone, this was a misunderstanding. The Triggers need to play in Trinidad and in the Pecos League. With me being a new coach and TSJC having a new coach we will work out differences."

Pecos League Commisioner Andrew Dunn did not attend the meeting. The schedule is due out on November 15th, the prelimary schedule does not have the Triggers in Raton or Trinidad.

The Mayor was very much in favor of keeping the Triggers. She personally called Andrew Dunn and said she just wanted to move forward and not lose the team in Trinidad. Moving the Triggers to Raton would have killed their work and momentum they had from the first year. Raton may still get up to six of the regular season games in the Triggers schedule. Many people also want to keep the original logo on the hats and keep the name of the team the Trinidad Triggers.

In 2007 the City of Raton removed the Public Swimming Pool and built the "The Million Dollar Ballpark". The total cost was over one million dollars so the name stuck.

2008 was the first year the field was used by Raton High School and various College Games have been hosted at this ballpark. The City of Raton has invited the Pecos League to play in Raton in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Originally Roswell was going to have Spring Training in Raton in 2013.

JD Droddy has been with the Trigg

JD Droddy has been with the Triggers since day 1. He will continue as field manager/director of baseball operations in 2013. There were questions about his health that have been answered. The Triggers were going to hire a new field manager for 2013 season but JD Droddy and a soon to be named assistant will be running the operations for the Triggers. JD has been very active signing and recruiting players to join the Triggers for the 2013 season. JD lives in Alamogordo and is excited for the 2013 season.

The Trinidad Triggers will have one

The Trinidad Triggers will have one of the key pitchers back. Chris Tuttle pitched for the Triggers in 2012. Chris went 3-3 with a 3.54 era in 58.1 innings pitched. Tuttle rotated roles for the Triggers as started relieved and closed.

The Trinidad Triggers have kicked off their 2013 signing class by signing Sam Briend. Sam comes from a familiar source for the Trinidad Triggers the New York Federals. He pitched for the Federals in 2011. He is from Cummings, Ga and pitched for the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels in Atlanta Georgia.

The Triggers will be attending the Pecos League Tryouts in Houston and Phoenix and the Houston Spring League in preparation for the 2013 season.

The Pecos League has reviewed the 2012 books for the Trinidad Triggers. There has been widespread accusations of the Trinidad Chamber of Commerce mishandling money. After the Pecos League audit neither Kim Schultz nor Tom Davis nor anyone at the Chamber took any money. The Chamber was the driving force for the team making it successfully through the season.

"Without Kim Schultz at the Trinidad Chamber, the Triggers would not be where they are. When Justin Lowery was fired the team was in a confused state, Justin told the newspaper that money was gone. Although it may have appeared this way from Justin, I can assure you this is not the case. The Triggers had much higher budgets on advertising and promotions that other teams in the Pecos League did not spend. It was a huge blow for the Triggers with Kim leaving the Chamber. It was a first year team and all first year teams lose money. The team is in great shape and ready to move forward for 2013 season." says Pecos League Commisioner Andrew Dunn

There was an article in Trinidad Chronicle Newspaper stating Ryan Powell was asked back as manager for 2013 season. Ryan was never asked back. In two years Ryan has done a great job as interim manager both in Carlsbad and Trinidad and if that position opens he will be the first person called. He still has a desire to play as he has shown by taking batting practice with the team and running before games. He was also active as a player on the playoff roster. In the best interest of our league we do not allow player managers. Ryan believes he has a couple of years left in him as a player.

Chris Schmidt is the manager of the Trinidad Triggers going forward. The Triggers start Spring Training May 2013 in Trinidad and will open with one of the teams in the Northern Division. The Pecos League hopes that Kim Schultz stays in Trinidad and is able to assist the team in some capacity.

The Trinidad Triggers will change their hat logo and keep the same jerseys similar to the White Sands Pupfish, their colors with remain the same popular Black and Yellow. Unlike White Sands the Triggers sold a lot of hats but decided to change their primary logo and hat to goto a more Western Theme. The Logo was designed after Bat Masterson who was a famous gunman in the area around the turn of the century.

The new Triggers hats will go on sale in January of 2013. They will keep their original Triggers Logo as alternate logo and on their jerseys. The Triggers will keep their famous Gold helmets and Black Jerseys. The Triggers will be getting a Gold second jersey as many of the teams in the Pecos League will wear black as their alternate jerseys. The logo was designed by a firm in Trinidad and will be the teams primary logo.

The saga of the Trinidad Triggers continued Wednesday with news that Kim Schultz had resigned from the Trinidad, Las Animas County Chamber of Commerce.

"Kim was instrumental and 100% responsible for the success of the Triggers through all struggles the city has had with the Ed Gil de Rubio situation and their water district issues, she kept things together mid season when we went through a field manager change. Our office in Trinidad was in the Chamber building, I would expect that to change now. I am not sure the Chamber will be able to operate without her. This is a major blow for the city of Trinidad not just the Triggers. All of the people that recruited the Pecos League to come to Trinidad are gone." says Andrew Dunn of the Pecos League.

The Triggers have been the bright light in an otherwise very tough year in Trinidad Colorado. The Community has made it clear that they want the Triggers to stay in Trinidad. The Pecos League will not announce the new field manager in Trinidad until things are settled within the City. The Pecos League is committed to regrouping and getting ready for the Triggers to play in the 2013 season in the Northern Division against Pueblo West, Farmington and Santa Fe. The Pecos League will be meeting with Trinidad and Pueblo the first week of September to finalize schedules and move forward with the 2013 season.

August 3 2012 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Trinidad Triggers 5-2 at Kokernot Field, using a 10-hit attack and a strong pitching performance to secure the win. Alpine scored once in the first inning, twice in the fifth, once in the sixth and once in the eighth. Trinidad answered with one run in the fourth and one in the fifth but could not close the gap.

N. Ochoa led Alpine with three hits and two runs, while Ben Ives added two hits and a run. J. Carranza went 2-for-2 with a home run, one RBI and one run scored, and Derrick Fox and Tyler Hicks also drove in runs. Alpine stole four bases and turned three double plays.

July 31 2012 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 6-4 at Kokernot Field, overcoming an early deficit with two runs in the fourth inning, two more in the sixth and the go-ahead runs in the eighth. Trinidad outhit Santa Fe 13-9 while committing two errors.

Brandon Cruz led Trinidad�s offense by going 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs. Daniel Pembroke added a two-run hit, while Isaac Hernandez went 2-for-3 with two runs. For Santa Fe, Justin Trejo collected three hits, and Kieran Bradford went 2-for-5 with a home run and one RBI. Joshua Valle and Scottie Mulhearn also drove in runs for the Fuego.

Santa Fe scored once in the first, twice in the fifth and once in the seventh to tie the game at 4-4 before Trinidad scored twice in the eighth. Trinidad starter Scott Sobczak worked five innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out five and walking seven.

Trinidad opened with two runs in the first, added four in the third, scored once in the fourth and once in the seventh. Santa Fe scored twice in the third and once in the seventh while finishing with nine hits. Both teams were charged with no errors.

Jason Veyna led Trinidad�s offense with three hits in five at-bats, three RBI, two runs and a home run. Trinidad took a 3-2 lead in the second inning, added four runs in the fourth and broke the game open with a six-run sixth. The Triggers added another run in the eighth, while White Sands scored twice in the third and twice in the eighth. Trinidad committed three errors compared with two for the Pupfish.

Jacob Fabry went 3-for-6 with two runs and five RBI, while Jason Veyna also had three hits and five RBI. Matt Smith added three hits, three runs and two RBI, and Brett Mendoza scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Colt Loehrs contributed two hits and three runs, including a double. July 26 2012 The White Sands Pupfish rallied for four runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Trinidad Triggers 10-8 at Griggs Park. White Sands collected 10 hits and overcame three errors, while Trinidad finished with eight hits and three errors.

Trinidad took a 2-1 lead in the second inning and extended the advantage to 5-2 with three runs in the third. The Pupfish answered with two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to tie the game at 6-6. The Triggers moved ahead 8-6 in the eighth before White Sands scored four times in the bottom half to take the lead for good.

Austin Newell and Thomas Schull each had two hits for White Sands. Schull scored twice and drove in two runs, while Jordan Stouffer delivered two hits and three RBIs. Case Rigby added two RBIs, and Michael Haynes scored twice. For Trinidad, Jason Veyna had two hits and scored twice, while Rob Herrmann drove in two runs.

White Sands collected 20 hits and built a 13-3 lead through four innings before adding two runs in each of the seventh and eighth innings. Trinidad finished with six hits and scored twice in the third six times in the sixth and once in the ninth.

Thomas Schull went 3-for-6 with a home run three runs and two RBI for White Sands. Case Rigby added three hits including a home run with one run and two RBI while Ernie Munoz went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Michael Haynes contributed two hits and four RBI and Austin Newall had three hits two runs and two RBI.

Las Cruces built an early lead with two runs in the first inning and three in the third before adding four runs in the fourth. The Vaqueros also scored three times in the sixth and twice in the ninth. Trinidad answered with three runs in the first, five in the second, one in the sixth, one in the seventh and one in the ninth, but could not overcome the deficit.

Its official the Santa Fe Fuego have joined the Pennant Race. For the third game in a row the Fuego got a great start from Anthony Machado. Combine this with Trent Evins and Kyle Cormier and the Fuego have finally gotten the quality starts they have needed to compete in the Pecos League. It is real simple for the Fuego to make the playoffs they must beat the team in the other dugout which happens to be the fourth place Trinidad Triggers. The White Sands Pupfish have completely collapsed. Trinidad is very inconsistant and Santa Fe is getting better with every game they play. Their record is currently 17-31 but they only trail Trinidad by three games who is 21-28. They still play the Triggers six more times, including a huge series at the end of the season.

Trinidad built a 5-4 advantage through four innings before breaking the game open with seven runs in the fifth. The Triggers added two runs in the seventh, while the Vaqueros scored three runs in the fifth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth. Trinidad�s offense included home runs by Jason Venya, Colt Loehrs and Clint Stroud.

Justin Lowery is no longer the field manager his replacement will be Ryan Powell. The shakeup happened in the 2nd game of a 12 game road trip which has the Triggers in Santa Fe. Ryan Powell is leaving his home in West Palm Beach Florida. Powell was field manager for Bats for 2nd half of the season.

Reggie Taylor powered Roswell�s offense with five hits in five at-bats, including a home run, a triple and a double, while driving in five runs and scoring twice. Matt Petty added four hits, two runs, two RBIs and a home run. Mike Miller collected three hits and scored twice, and Brycen Bell scored twice.

Mike Miller led Roswell with three hits in four at-bats four runs and three RBI. Brian Ramirez added two hits and three RBI while Matt Petty drove in two runs. May 24 2012 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Trinidad Triggers 11-5 after collecting 13 hits and scoring in six different innings. Alpine built a 7-5 lead through eight innings before adding four runs in the ninth. Trinidad finished with nine hits and committed eight errors, while Alpine had one error.

Derrick Fox and Tyler Hicks each went 2-for-4 with a home run two runs and two RBIs for Alpine. Bo Bell added a hit two walks two RBIs and a run, while Kevin Hennessey and Ben Ives each recorded two hits. Alpine also received doubles from Bell Justin McDavid Hennessey Eric Garcia Ives and Mike Marion.

Trinidad was led by Jacob Fabry who went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. Andrew Riddick went 2-for-3 with a double a run and two RBIs, while Harry Williams Jr. drove in two runs.

Chris Welborn earned the win for Alpine after allowing nine hits and five earned runs in 6.1 innings with one walk and six strikeouts. Andrew Wall Andrew Plotkin and Alfredo Caballero combined for 2.2 scoreless innings in relief. Trinidad starter L. Pardo allowed six runs in six innings, and Adam Polston was charged with the loss.

May 20 2012 The Las Cruces Vaqueros defeated the Trinidad Triggers 20-12 in a high-scoring game at Kokernot Field. Las Cruces collected 19 hits and scored in seven innings, while Trinidad finished with 12 hits and scored in five innings.

Las Cruces broke the game open with a nine-run second inning after taking a 2-1 lead in the first. The Vaqueros added two runs in the third and fourth innings, one in the sixth and four in the seventh. Trinidad answered with four runs in the third and fifth innings and three in the ninth but could not overcome the early deficit.

Trevor Whyte led the Vaqueros with four hits, three runs, two RBIs and a home run. Sal Rivera also collected four hits and scored three runs, while Jimmy Parque had three hits, four RBIs and a home run. Ryan Lauer drove in three runs and hit a home run, and Steve Rinaudo added two hits and three RBIs. For Trinidad, Harry Williams went 4-for-5 with four RBIs, Daniel Pembroke had two hits and a home run, and Jacob Fabry drove in two runs.

PJ Jang earned the win for Las Cruces after allowing 10 hits and nine runs, eight earned, in five innings with five walks and four strikeouts. The Trinidad Triggers have acquired

The Trinidad Triggers have acquired Cuban Reliever Alexei Gil Perez. Perez is the first Cuban to land in the Pecos League. The Triggers acquired Perez from Richard W Carter of Arlington Texas. Perez was originally set to pitch in Laredo in the American Association. Laredo"s roster was suddenly full so Perez has begun his season with the Triggers. He has made two appearances and has an ERA of 1.29 which is unheard of in the Pecos League. He completely shut the door on White Sands for 7 innings. "He will be quickly promoted to a higher league. I will use him while I have him. He saved us tonight." says field manager Justin Lowery.

May 19 2012 The Trinidad Triggers overcame an early seven-run deficit to defeat the White Sands Pupfish 8-7. White Sands scored all seven of its runs in the first inning, but Trinidad answered with two runs in the fourth, five in the seventh and one in the ninth to complete the comeback. Trinidad collected 10 hits while the Pupfish finished with nine.

Daniel Pembroke led the Triggers with two hits, two runs and two RBI, including a home run. Harry Williams Jr. added a double, scored once and drove in two runs, while Jason Venya contributed an RBI and a sacrifice fly. White Sands� Juan Martinez had three hits and an RBI, and Henry Gonzalez Jr. hit a two-run home run.

Alexi Gil Perez settled in after the first inning for Trinidad, allowing six hits and two runs, one earned, over seven innings while striking out seven and walking five. John Sullivan earned the win with 1 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out two. Trinidad starter E. Correa recorded one out and was charged with five runs, four earned.

Trent Lee started for White Sands and allowed seven hits and five runs over six innings, with three strikeouts and four walks. Curtis Camilli took the loss after giving up three hits and three runs in three innings while striking out five.

May 18 2012 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the White Sands Pupfish 12-9 in a high-scoring game at Apodaca Park. Trinidad finished with 12 runs and 11 hits while White Sands scored nine runs on 13 hits.

Trinidad broke through with four runs in the second inning and added five more in the third to take a 9-2 lead. The Triggers added two runs in the sixth and one in the eighth. White Sands answered with four runs in the fourth and two in the seventh but could not overcome the early deficit.

Jason Venya led Trinidad with two hits, two runs and four RBI. Brett Mendoza scored three runs and drove in three, while Daniel Pembroke hit a home run and finished with two RBI. Clint Stroud and Harry Williams Jr. also collected two hits apiece. For White Sands, Jarrett Northcutt went 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, and Joey Friedman and Aven Fletcher each had two hits.

May 17 2012 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Roswell Invaders 17-11 in a high-scoring game. Trinidad collected 20 hits and built an early 5-1 lead through three innings before Roswell erupted for seven runs in the fourth to move in front 8-6.

Trinidad answered with two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth then put the game away with five runs in the ninth. Harry Williams Jr. went 3-for-6 with three runs and an RBI while Bryson Sims Jacob Fabry Clint Stroud and Jason Venya each collected three hits. Venya drove in three runs Stroud had two RBI and Andrew Riddick finished with two hits two walks and two RBI. A.J. Barone added four RBI despite recording one hit.

Roswell received two hits and three RBI from Brycen Bell while A.J. Morris scored three runs and went 2-for-4. Brian Fitzpatrick had two hits and Reggie Taylor added a triple two runs and two RBI. The Invaders totaled 10 hits and scored seven times in the fourth but could not match Trinidad"s late production.

May 16 2012 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Trinidad Triggers 7-5 at Griggs Park. Roswell scored three runs in the first inning and added two in the third to take an early 5-1 lead. The Invaders extended the advantage with a run in the fourth and another in the eighth, finishing with seven runs on nine hits. Trinidad scored once in the second and third innings, twice in the seventh and once in the ninth while collecting six hits.

Josh Cakebread led Roswell�s offense by going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Casanova Donaldson went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI, while Reggie Taylor and AJ Morris each had two hits and scored once. For Trinidad, Andrew Riddick went 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Rob Herrmann contributed a hit, a run and an RBI.

Liam Zenger OBrien earned the win for Roswell after allowing three hits and two earned runs in four innings. He struck out eight and walked one. Dakota Laufenberg threw a scoreless inning, and Reed Alfieri recorded the save with two strikeouts in two-thirds of an inning.

Grafton Kent is the first player to

Grafton Kent is the first player to be promoted from the Pecos League in 2012 season. Grafton is 29 years old from Savanhan, Ga. He was signed by Justin Lowery. The Triggers played the Diablos two exhibiton games. Kent threw in the 2nd game and drew interest from the Diablos and was signed after the game. "He is a hard throwing lefty with a lot of run" said Jorge Alvarez head coach for the El Paso Diablos. "I am excited for Grafton to goto the American Association. He will be a key lefty for them and possibly sneak into affliated baseball." The Triggers resume play in Roswell Tuesday Night against the Invaders.

May 10 2012 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 23-13 in a high-scoring game at Fort Marcy Park. Trinidad collected 25 hits and scored in six innings while Santa Fe finished with 16 hits and 13 runs.

Trinidad broke through for three runs in the third inning and added three more in the fourth before erupting for four runs in the fifth and nine in the sixth. The Triggers added three runs in the seventh to build a commanding lead. Santa Fe answered with five runs in the fifth and six in the ninth but could not overcome the deficit.

Bryson Sims led Trinidad by going 6-for-6 with six runs and two RBIs. Kyle Rosadino went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a walk while Andrew Riddick was 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBIs. Harry Williams Jr. drove in three runs, and Jacob Fabry Daniel Pembroke Matt Smith and Rob Herrmann each homered for the Triggers.

Karlyle Whitley was credited with two home runs and five RBIs for Santa Fe while Andrew Archbold drove in six runs. Ronny Romo Jr. added three RBIs and Kieran Bradford went 4-for-4 with three runs scored.

John Sullivan earned the win for Trinidad after allowing two hits and one run over two innings while striking out five and walking six. Isaac Hernandez took the loss for Santa Fe after surrendering seven runs six earned on seven hits in three innings. Scott Berkebile pitched three scoreless innings with five strikeouts for the Fuego.

May 9 2012 The Santa Fe Fuego defeated the Trinidad Triggers 17-8 at Fort Marcy Park. Santa Fe scored in each of the first six innings, building a 13-8 lead through four innings before adding three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. Trinidad scored twice in each of the first two innings and four times in the fourth but was held scoreless over the final five frames.

Andrew Archbold led Santa Fe with three hits in five at-bats, two runs and five RBI. Joshua Valle scored four runs and drove in two, while Matt Streich contributed two RBI. Santa Fe also received doubles from Valle, Ronny Romo Jr. Justin Trejo and Streich. The Fuego finished with 10 hits according to the line score and stole three bases, including two by Archbold.

Trinidad�s Bryson Sims went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Kyle Rosadino added two hits and scored three runs, while Trinidad totaled nine hits. The Triggers scored their eight runs in the first, second and fourth innings.

Chris Treibt earned the win for Santa Fe with three scoreless innings, allowing no hits while striking out five and walking one. Rodney Tafoya started for the Fuego and allowed eight runs, three earned, on eight hits in 3.2 innings. Miguel Hernandez took the loss for Trinidad after allowing 11 runs, five earned, in 2.2 innings, with six walks and four strikeouts.

Game 1 of the Pecos League is complete. Trinidad Triggers 4 Santa Fe Fuego 3 the Trinidad Triggers got their offense from Jason Venya. He shocked the crowd and the Fuego with two solo homers. He also played solid defense. The Triggers got a solid start from Luis Pardo who threw six innings striking out ten hitters. The Triggers almost threw the game away when Mario Echeverria threw the ball away on what would have been a for sure double play. Santa Fe only was able to gather three hits, Josh Valle had a huge 2 rbi single that tied the game at two. The Triggers had great entertainment and had 589 fans watch their first ever game on a cold Colorado Tuesday Night. The two teams meet tommorow night in Santa Fe. The new umpiring was substantially better than the 2011 season. The players played crisper and the league is off to a great start. Santa Fe got great scoreless relief from Jermiah Steinart and Joey Garcia. John Sullivan got the save for Trinidad pitching brillantly for 1-2/3 innings.

Harry Williams will play 1b, Daniel Pembroke will play 3b. Jason Vina will teams starting 2b, Brandon Javis will be teams opening day shortstop. Andrew Riddick, Jacob Fabry and Kyle Rosadino will serve as the teams three outfielders. Rob Hermann will be the opening day catcher.

The Triggers had 41 players in camp and they are down to their 25 man roster. The Triggers will open at home on May 8th against Santa Fe. The Triggers will then go on a 2 week road trip to Alamogordo, Santa Fe, Roswell and El Paso before coming home at the end of May.

The Trinidad Triggers will play two

The Trinidad Triggers will play two exhibition games against the El Paso Diablos in Cohen Stadium May 12 and May 13. These games will serve as the final two games before the Diablos begin their regular season. Originally El Paso was scheduled to play American Association rival Laredo Lumers in these games but the games where canceled. Trinidad begins a series in White Sands on May 15 and had these dates off on their original schedule. "It is a great opportunity for the Triggers players to see face to face what it is like at next level of Independent Baseball." The Diablos have one of their best rosters in recent years and have really bolstered their pitching staff.

The City of Trinidad has begun reco

The City of Trinidad has begun reconstruction of their grandstands. There was major earthquake damage in the Fall of 2011. The Ballpark will be ready for opening day with a complete structural overhaul brick wall and improvements to seating areas. The Triggers host Santa Fe on May 8th at 7:00 PM for the opening game of the 2012 Pecos League Season. City Manager Ed gil De Rubio is in charge of the project and says everything is on course for opening day. TSJC and Trinidad High School are currently playing and practicing on the field. Trinidad Triggers staff Justin Lowery and Kim Schultz proudly presented Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper with a Trinidad Triggers Jersey. The Governor is excited to see pro baseball in Southern Colorado. The jersey was presented to the Governor at an Action 22 Meeting in Denver colorado.

Action 22 is a volunteer-driven membership organization of individuals, cities, communities, counties, associations, businesses and organizations in a 22-county region, banding together for a stronger voice on statewide discussion tables, the State Legislature and in Washington, D.C. Action 22"s mission is to give voice to Southern Colorado and serve as a leader for cohesive action to affect change and shape the future of Southern Colorado.

The Trinidad Triggers will play their first season in the Pecos League in 2012. The Triggers are excited to host the opening game of the 2012 season against the Santa Fe Fuego on May 8, 2012.

Trinidad Triggers have released their uniforms for the inaugural 2012 season. They will wear black jerseys with Block tone on tone Gold Trinidad. The Colorado Trigger will be integrated with the D on the Jersey. They will have sponsor patches on both sleeves. All of the gear the Triggers wear will be Rawlings. The Triggers will wear black hats will yellow bill. The Colors will be black and Yellow, The team will wear Yellow helmets and Black Hats with Yellow bills. The Triggers start their inaugural season May 8th, 2012 at home against the Santa Fe Fuego.

The Pecos League of Professional Ba

The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs and the Trinidad Triggers will offer a custom label beer. Today the team agreed to a custom label with the Triggers logo for both wine and beer. The beer will be a pale amber lager. Today Head Coach Justin Lowery and Assistant Coach JD Droddy dropped by Tire Shop Wine and Spirits to test and approve the beer. "It tastes good" says Lowery.

Tire Shop Wine and Spirits at 601 W Main will have exclusive rights to produce and sell the wine and beer. The Triggers will receive a small portion of the proceeds to help offset their large travel costs. The store is very unique and is the most popular beer store in Southern Colorado. The Triggers are the only team in the Pecos League that could pull off such an event due to the harsh New Mexico alcohol laws and anti-donation laws.

The beer most likely won"t be sold at the games as the Pecos League is likely to have an exclusive contract with Budweiser throughout the league.

The Trinidad Triggers will play their first game May 8th, 2012 at home against the Santa Fe Fuego.

The Triggers are going to fit right into the Pecos League where teams are beginning to really have signature items. The White Sands Pupfish are having their own pool installed in right field. The Roswell Invaders have lime green baseballs, jerseys and pants and an alien hanging from the rafters of their stadium.
