Santa Fe Fuego Roll Past Trinidad Triggers 14-4

July 17 2019 The Santa Fe Fuego defeated the Trinidad Triggers 14-4 on July 17 2019 in a seven-inning game. Santa Fe collected 11 hits and scored eight runs in the second inning to take control after Trinidad held a 2-1 lead through the first inning. The Fuego added four runs in the third and scored once in the sixth while Trinidad scored in the fourth and seventh innings.

B. Dansereau led Santa Fe with two hits and four RBI including a double. Nick Herzog added two hits and two RBI while Rick Phillips went 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI. Jackson Webb scored three runs and drew three walks. Santa Fe also received two hits from Kyle Butler and two hits from Robert Garza. The Fuego finished with eight walks and no home runs.

Jack Herzing earned the win after allowing four hits and three runs two earned in four innings while striking out seven and walking four. Julian Devora followed with two scoreless innings and four strikeouts. K. Pierson pitched the seventh for Santa Fe. Thomas JefferiesIV paced Trinidad with two hits including two doubles and drove in one run. Trey Bigford also had an RBI for the Triggers.

Jake Miller took the loss for Trinidad after allowing six hits and nine runs three earned in 1.2 innings. Ronald Gutierrez was charged with four earned runs in two-thirds of an inning before Nicholas Dorcean and Taylor Bridges combined to allow one additional run over the final 4.2 innings. Trinidad committed five errors in the game while Santa Fe played errorless baseball.
