July 15 2019 The Trinidad Triggers held off the Santa Fe Fuego 9-8 in a high-scoring game. Trinidad collected 11 hits and scored five runs in the first inning before adding one run in the fifth one in the sixth and one in the ninth. Santa Fe finished with 10 hits and scored twice in the sixth three times in the seventh and three times in the eighth.
Scott Stetson led Trinidad with four hits and two runs. Thomas Jefferies IV added two hits and drove in four runs while Jakob Shuler hit a home run and finished with two hits and one RBI. Trey Bigford and Nick Stoll also drove in runs for the Triggers.
Santa Fe received home runs from Robert Garza and Jackson Webb with each driving in two runs. Kyle Butler had two hits and two RBI while Rick Phillips went 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Nick Herzog added two hits and an RBI and Brett Dansereau contributed one hit and one RBI.
Skyler Henderson was credited with the win for Trinidad and Kyle Kuttruf took the loss for Santa Fe. Gabriel Estrada’s pitching line included 10 hits allowed eight runs seven earned runs one walk and 12 strikeouts for Trinidad while Tommy Giunta allowed nine hits and seven runs with six walks and three strikeouts for Santa Fe.
