Santa Fe Fuego Roll Past Trinidad Triggers 32-7

June 28 2019 The Santa Fe Fuego defeated the Trinidad Triggers 32-7 at Fort Marcy Park behind a 23-hit attack. Santa Fe scored six runs in the first inning and four in the second to take a 10-6 lead before breaking the game open with an 11-run third. The Fuego added two runs in the fourth and nine in the sixth, while Trinidad scored once in the seventh. Santa Fe finished with 23 hits and one error; Trinidad had four hits and five errors.

Jose Camacho went 3-for-4 with five runs scored, three RBIs and a home run for Santa Fe. Jackson Webb and Sherman Graves each had three hits, four runs and four RBIs, while Brett Dansereau drove in six runs with two homers. Troy Maslowski also hit two home runs and recorded six RBIs. Rick Phillips added four hits and four runs, and Robert Garza scored twice, drove in three runs and drew three walks.

Ross Mintzer earned the win after working five innings, allowing two hits and six runs while striking out seven and walking six. Cleveland Westbrook pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, and Scott Walton allowed one run in the seventh. Trinidad starter Jose Orta took the loss after giving up seven hits and 10 runs in two innings.

Trinidads scoring included home runs by N. Shumpert and D. Gallagher. Gallagher finished with two hits and five RBIs, while Shumpert scored twice and drove in one run. Santa Fes offensive surge produced 28 RBIs in the seven-inning game.
