June 19 2019 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Garden City Wind 2-0 in a low-scoring contest. Trinidad broke through with one run in the sixth inning and added another in the seventh, finishing with three hits while holding Garden City to five hits. The Triggers committed two errors, while the Wind also had two errors.
Jakob Shuler drove in Trinidad’s first run and finished 1-for-4. Abel Arocho and Nick Stoll also had hits for the Triggers, with Arocho scoring once and reaching base twice with a hit and a walk. Garden City’s Carson Lee and Brandon Kussmaul each collected two hits, but the Wind could not bring a runner home.
Calvin Luk earned the win after allowing five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over seven scoreless innings. C. Strayer followed with a hitless eighth and one strikeout, and David Gates completed the shutout with a scoreless ninth to earn the save. Edwin Lopez took the loss for Garden City after allowing two runs on three hits over 6.1 innings.
