Trinidad Triggers Rally Past Garden City Wind 9-7

June 16 2019 The Trinidad Triggers rallied from an early deficit to defeat the Garden City Wind 9-7. Garden City scored twice in each of the first two innings and added three runs in the third to take a 7-5 lead, but Trinidad answered with two runs in the fourth to tie the game and two more in the seventh to move in front. The Triggers finished with 11 hits and one error, while the Wind collected 14 hits and committed two errors.

Reid Bonner led Garden City with four hits and two runs, and Cutter McDowell went 3-for-5 with one RBI. Nick Snyder hit his 10th home run of the season and drove in two runs, while Layne Gusler also homered and finished with two RBI. Peter Pena added two RBI for the Wind.

Trinidad received two hits and two RBI from Abel Arocho and two hits and two RBI from Nick Stoll. Matt Eureste and Tim Henry each drove in a run, with Henry adding a double and two RBI. Arocho also scored twice as the Triggers turned the game around after trailing 7-5 through three innings.

Skyler Henderson earned the win after pitching one scoreless inning with one hit and one strikeout. David Gates worked a scoreless ninth for the save. Nicholas Dorcean provided 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, allowing two hits while striking out three. Garden City starter Gusler allowed seven runs six earned on nine hits in six innings, and Kyle Porter took the loss after allowing two runs in one inning.
