May 30 2019 The Garden City Wind defeated the Trinidad Triggers 9-3 behind a 14-hit attack. Garden City scored four runs in the first inning, added one in the sixth and broke the game open with four more in the seventh. Trinidad scored once in the first, sixth and eighth innings and finished with nine hits.
Shane Brown went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs for Garden City, while Nick Snyder homered and drove in two runs. Carson Lee went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, Cutter McDowell went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI, and Russell Schwertfeger added two hits, a run and an RBI. Garden City also received home runs from Brown and Snyder, along with doubles from McDowell and Hunter Villanueva.
Rich Edwards earned the win after allowing two earned runs on eight hits in seven innings with four strikeouts and no walks. Jonathan Fleckenstein and Kyle Porter each worked one scoreless inning in relief. Trinidad starter Conor Bawiec took the loss after giving up five earned runs on 10 hits in six innings while striking out seven. Jonathan Bigley homered for the Triggers and finished 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, while Matt Eureste and Nick Stoll each collected two hits.
