Alpine Cowboys Hold Off Trinidad Triggers 6-4

June 30 2018 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Trinidad Triggers 6-4 at Kokernot Field, overcoming a 4-3 deficit after five innings. Alpine scored twice in the third, then added single runs in the fourth and fifth before a two-run sixth inning gave the Cowboys a 6-3 lead. Trinidad scored once in the fifth, twice in the sixth and once in the seventh but could not complete the comeback.

Alpine collected eight hits and drew eight walks. Tommy Ziegen went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while M. Traylor also had two hits and drove in two runs. Caleb Davidson added two hits and an RBI, Paul Ludden scored twice and contributed an RBI, and Jonathan Bigley tripled and scored twice. Trinidad finished with 11 hits, led by Bronson Butchers 3-for-4 performance and Matt Eurestes 3-for-3 outing. Charles Osborne hit a home run and drove in two runs, while Nick Stoll went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Cody Remore earned the win for Alpine after allowing four runs on 11 hits in 6.2 innings. He walked one and struck out three. Coleman Ramsey recorded the save by retiring the only batter he faced in the seventh inning.

Jose Orta took the loss for Trinidad, surrendering four earned runs on five hits in 4.2 innings while walking seven and striking out five. Jack Mayes worked 1.1 innings and allowed two runs on three hits. Alpine committed no errors, while Trinidad was charged with one.
