June 24 2018 The Trinidad Triggers rallied for a 12-11 victory over the Garden City Wind in an 11-inning? No—eight-inning offensive battle. Trinidad finished with 16 hits and Garden City had 12, with both teams recording no errors. The Triggers scored four runs in the first inning and one in the second before Garden City answered with four runs in the fourth.

Garden City took advantage of a five-run seventh inning and added two more in the eighth to move in front 11-10. Trinidad answered with two runs in the bottom of the eighth and held Garden City scoreless in the ninth, which ended with an “x” in the box score.

Ryan Whitt led Garden City with four hits and five RBI, including two doubles. Cole Fenner added two hits and two walks, while Jonathan Tasis had two hits and three walks. Chip White contributed one hit and three RBI. For Trinidad, Matt Eureste went 4-for-5 with four RBI, Nick Stoll had three hits and Danny Molinari and Charles Osborne each collected two hits.

Trinidad used six pitchers. Thomas Nelson earned the win after recording the final out of the eighth inning, and Matt Stuart worked a scoreless ninth for the save. Jose Orta pitched four innings, allowing four runs on four hits with seven walks and two strikeouts. Garden City starter Chip White went eight innings and was charged with 12 runs on 16 hits while striking out eight and walking five.
