June 22 2018 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Garden City Wind 8-0 at Trinidad Central Park, using a strong offensive start and a dominant complete-game shutout from Joseph Broderick. Trinidad scored once in the first inning and twice in the second before adding two runs in the sixth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth.
Charles Osborne led the Triggers with three hits, a double, one run and one RBI. Matt Eureste added two hits, including a home run, with one run and one RBI, while Jabari Brown scored twice and reached base four times with a hit and two walks. Nick Stoll, Kenneth Fudge and Joseph Broderick also drove in runs for Trinidad, which finished with 11 hits.
Broderick earned the victory by pitching all nine innings, allowing three hits and no runs while striking out 12 and walking five. Michael Biasello took the loss for Garden City after allowing five runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings with seven walks and three strikeouts.
Garden City managed three hits and five walks but was held scoreless throughout. Cole Fenner recorded the Wind’s only extra-base hit with a double, while Trinidad’s defense turned one double play and Garden City turned three.
