Trinidad Triggers Roll Past Santa Fe Fuego 14-7

June 19 2018 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 14-7 after scoring 14 runs across the second through fifth innings. Trinidad collected 17 hits and overcame two errors, while Santa Fe finished with 15 hits and no errors.

Trinidad took control with three runs in the second inning and three more in the third before breaking the game open with four-run rallies in both the fourth and fifth. Santa Fe scored once in the first, twice in the fourth, three times in the sixth and once in the seventh, but could not close the gap.

Kenneth Fudge led Trinidad with three hits, including a home run, three RBI and three runs scored. Matt Eureste added three hits and four RBI, while Tim Henry went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Danny Molinari scored three times and drew three walks. Matt Stuart contributed three RBI, and Trinidad also received extra-base hits from Nick Stoll, Joba Ferrell and Eureste.

Stuart earned the win after allowing 13 hits and six runs in five innings, with four runs charged as earned. Ryan Patrick followed with two innings of two-hit ball, allowing one run. Santa Fe starter Hunter Pearson took the loss after surrendering nine hits and six runs in 2 1/3 innings. Ethan Estes paced the Fuego offense by going 5-for-5 with three RBI, while Daniel Aldrich drove in two runs and Dan Pellinen recorded two doubles.
