June 18 2012 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Trinidad Triggers 11-10 in a high-scoring game at Griggs Park. Roswell built an 11-7 advantage through four innings, scoring five runs in the first, two in the second, one in the third and two in the fourth. Trinidad answered with three runs in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the seventh, but could not complete the comeback.
Reggie Taylor powered Roswell’s offense with five hits in five at-bats, including a home run, a triple and a double, while driving in five runs and scoring twice. Matt Petty added four hits, two runs, two RBIs and a home run. Mike Miller collected three hits and scored twice, and Brycen Bell scored twice.
Jacob Fabry led Trinidad with four RBIs, two hits and a home run while scoring four times. B. Robinson contributed two hits and two RBIs, and Clint Stroud drove in three runs. Trinidad finished with 12 hits, compared with 16 for Roswell, but committed the game’s only error.
Reed Alfieri earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, and Bobby Gooch recorded the save with a scoreless inning and three strikeouts. Roswell starter Liam Zenger OBrien allowed seven runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings. Josh Means took the loss for Trinidad after allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 10 hits in six innings.
