July 11 2014 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Douglas Diablos 14-12 in a high-scoring contest at Central Park. Both teams collected 11 hits, while Douglas committed five errors compared with one for Trinidad.
Jamie McMillan led Trinidad with two hits, including a triple, and five RBI. Shane Casey added three hits and three RBI, while Michael Morris scored five runs and drew three walks. K.C. Judge drove in two runs, and A.J. Puma contributed one RBI as the Triggers secured the win.
Douglas received a major offensive contribution from Ryan DiMascio, who hit a home run and drove in five runs. Matt Alton went 2-for-2 with a double, three walks and an RBI, while Ray Roman had two hits and two walks. Yuki Yasuda and Derek Voigt also drove in runs for the Diablos.
Jeff Lyons earned the win for Trinidad after allowing six runs on four hits in five innings with eight walks and three strikeouts. Clint Manzo recorded the save with two innings of relief. Mac Acker took the loss for Douglas, surrendering nine runs on eight hits in four innings while striking out four.
