Razorback Suckers Rally Past Triggers in 15-14 Thriller
The Grand Junction Razorback Suckers overcame a nine-run first-inning deficit and scored the
deciding run in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Trinidad Triggers 15-14 on Saturday
night at Suplizio Field.
Trinidad exploded for nine runs in the top of the first inning, but Grand Junction immediately began
its comeback with five runs in the bottom of the second. The Razorback Suckers added two runs in the
third, four in the fifth and three in the sixth to take a 14-11 lead.
The Triggers refused to go away. Trinidad scored two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh
to tie the game at 14-14. Grand Junction answered in the bottom of the eighth with the go-ahead run
and held Trinidad scoreless in the ninth to secure the victory.
Jake Alwine led the Grand Junction offense by going 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs
scored. Zain Zinicola finished 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, while Ryan Rifenberg went 3-for-4
with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Michael Doerr added a home run and two RBIs.
Trinidad was led by Brody Rasmussen, who went 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
Wyatt Morgan collected three hits, hit a home run and scored three times. Jeremiah Cabuyban homered,
doubled and drove in three runs, while Keaton Fisher finished with three hits and two RBIs.
Both teams collected 17 hits. Grand Junction committed five errors, while Trinidad played error-free
defense. The win improved the Razorback Suckers to 23-16, while the Triggers fell to 31-8.
