Triggers Hold Off Fuego 8-7

July 21 2025 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 8-7 after building an early lead and holding off a late challenge. Trinidad scored in each of the first four innings before adding three runs in the sixth, while Santa Fe answered with four runs in the first, one in the fifth and two in the sixth. The Triggers finished with 12 hits and the Fuego collected 13; neither team committed an error.

LeRoy Rushing led Trinidad with three hits and three RBI, while Gleyder Abreu went 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Connor Huzicka and Jake Tanner each homered, with Tanner adding two hits, two runs and an RBI. Santa Fe received three hits and two runs from Quinton Copeland and Saul Razo, while Christopher Martinez had two hits, two RBI and the Fuegos only home run.

Alan Ramirez earned the win for Trinidad despite allowing seven runs on 12 hits in 5.1 innings. He struck out five and walked three. Levi Masloski secured the save with 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out one. Joey Mucci took the loss for Santa Fe after surrendering eight runs on 12 hits in 6.1 innings, with three walks and four strikeouts; Quinton Copeland followed with 1.2 scoreless innings and three strikeouts.
