Blackwell Flycatchers Outlast Trinidad Triggers 14-13

July 28 2024 The Blackwell Flycatchers defeated the Trinidad Triggers 14-13 in a high-scoring game at Central Park. Blackwell collected 11 hits and overcame five errors by Trinidad, while the Triggers finished with 13 hits and one error.

Blackwell scored four runs in the first inning, added two in the fourth, and broke open a 10-10 game with four runs in the ninth. Trinidad answered with two runs in the first, three in the third, two in the fifth, three in the sixth and three in the ninth, but the late rally fell one run short.

Markus Bracey led the Flycatchers with three hits, including a double and a home run, and five RBIs. Jack Skantze added two hits, a double, a home run and three RBIs, while D. Martinez went 3-for-5 with an RBI. For Trinidad, A. Mason went 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs. C. Lopez scored three runs and hit a home run while driving in two, and M. Cabrera also homered.

D.J. Martin earned the win after allowing one hit and two earned runs in two innings, with two walks and one strikeout. Brendan Moran and Cade Caldwell each worked three innings for Blackwell. Derrick Sylve took the loss for Trinidad after allowing six runs in three innings, and J. Williams allowed six runs, three earned, in five innings.
