Trinidad Triggers Edge Santa Fe Fuego 7-6

July 23 2024 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 7-6 after collecting 13 hits at Central Park. Trinidad scored in five different innings, including three runs in the sixth and single runs in the seventh and eighth to secure the one-run victory.

Jacob Mitchell led Trinidad with three hits in four at-bats, scoring twice and driving in one run. Leyton Barry went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Jeremiah Williams went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Chris Lopez added a home run as a pinch-hitter, giving him one hit and one RBI.

Santa Fe broke through for five runs in the fifth inning and added another run in the eighth. Rodney Scarver went 3-for-5 with one RBI, and T. Starr was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Zeke Hass contributed one hit, two walks and two RBIs, while Clayton Evans added two hits.

Dominic Scotti took the loss for Santa Fe after allowing 13 hits and seven runs, all earned, in eight innings. He struck out three and walked three. Trinidad used five pitchers, with Kenny Stewart earning the win and Paul Mendoza recording the save. Trinidad starter Jeremiah Williams worked five innings, allowing seven hits and five runs, two earned, while striking out three.
