June 27 2024 The Trinidad Triggers rallied past the Roswell Invaders 7-6 after overcoming an early deficit. Roswell scored twice in the first inning and added single runs in the second and third to take a 4-1 lead, then held a 5-4 advantage after five innings. Trinidad broke through with three runs in the sixth to move ahead 7-5, while Roswell’s seventh-inning run brought the Invaders within one.
Peter Bocchino powered the Triggers’ offense with three hits and four RBIs, including his sixth home run of the season. Jakobe Smith added two hits, three runs, two RBIs and his fifth homer, while DeMarcus Kelly, Humberto Maldonado and Jordan Anderson each collected two or more hits. Trinidad finished with 16 hits overall.
Luis Moreno led Roswell with two hits and four runs scored, and Coco Simoneux and Lucas Scott each drove in runs. Scott had one of Roswell’s two doubles and two RBIs. The Invaders totaled 10 hits in the loss.
Jacob Faivre earned the win for Trinidad after allowing seven hits and five runs, four earned, in five innings while striking out eight. Jacob Mitchell followed with two innings, allowing one run and striking out five, and Colin Kelly recorded the save with a scoreless ninth that included two strikeouts. Roswell starter Jacob Young took the loss after surrendering 11 hits and seven runs, six earned, in 5.2 innings.
