Trinidad Triggers Cruise Past North Platte 80s 13-3

June 15 2024 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the North Platte 80s 13-3 at Central Park, using a 17-hit attack to pull away for the win. Trinidad scored twice in the first inning, added eight runs in the fifth, and tacked on two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth. North Platte scored once in the third and twice in the fifth while finishing with six hits and one error.

Peter Bocchino led Trinidad with three hits in five at-bats, four RBI and two runs scored, including a home run. Humberto Maldonado also went deep and finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Waldy Camacho was 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, while Jordan Anderson, Jacob Mitchell and Dustin Chartrand each added two hits. Bocchino and Maldonado supplied Trinidad’s home runs, and the Triggers also received two doubles from Jacob Mitchell.

Jacob Faivre earned the win for Trinidad after allowing two hits and three runs in five innings, with two earned runs, four walks and four strikeouts. Dakota Rodd and Julio Gonzalez each worked two scoreless innings in relief; Gonzalez struck out four. North Platte starter Lake Fisher took the loss after giving up eight hits and five runs in 4.1 innings with one walk and two strikeouts.

Luke Lee and Garrett Flaagan each had two hits for North Platte, with Lee scoring once and Flaagan scoring once. Jerry Liang drove in North Platte’s lone RBI, while the 80s went 6-for-31 as a team and left nine runners on base.
