Tucson Uses Fast Start to Defeat Trinidad 14-10

June 11 2024 The Tucson Saguaros built an early lead and held on for a 14-10 victory over the Trinidad Triggers. Tucson scored six runs in the first inning, added three in the third and three more in the fifth to finish with 14 runs on 18 hits. Trinidad collected 13 hits and scored three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings before adding two runs in both the seventh and eighth.

Gavy Perez-Torres drove in three runs and hit a home run for Tucson. Wata Kumagai went 3-for-6 with four RBI, while JuJuan Franklin and Sam Plash each had three hits. Kirk Trahan scored three times and added two hits and one RBI, and BJ Minarcin reached base four times with three walks and a hit.

Jordan Anderson led Trinidad with two hits and three RBI. Jacob Mitchell scored three runs while going 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI, and Dustin Chartrand added two hits and two runs. Dakota Rodd contributed a hit and two RBI for the Triggers.

Brendan Konal earned the win for Tucson after allowing six runs on 10 hits in five innings, with five walks and two strikeouts. Carson McKenna and Mitchell Deyoung each worked a scoreless inning in relief, while Dallan Curthoys struck out three in one inning. Josh Mendez took the loss for Trinidad, surrendering six runs on six hits in two innings.
