Roswell Invaders Rally Past Trinidad Triggers 9-8

June 7 2024 The Roswell Invaders rallied for a 9-8 victory over the Trinidad Triggers at Joe Bauman, overcoming an early deficit in a high-scoring game. Roswell improved to 20-30 while Trinidad fell to 34-17. The Invaders totaled seven hits and committed no errors, while the Triggers collected nine hits and made four errors.

Trinidad scored three runs in the fourth inning to take the initial lead, but Roswell answered with a seven-run fifth. The Triggers tied the game with four runs in the sixth and moved ahead 8-7 with a run in the eighth. Roswell responded with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to secure the win.

Lucas Scott provided Roswell’s biggest offensive blow with a home run and two RBI. He finished 1-for-4 with two runs scored. Luis Moreno scored twice and reached base three times with a hit and two walks, while Jonathan Cavazos, Shane Morrow, Sabastian Velez, Reyes Willis and Coco Simoneux each drove in a run. Roswell’s Jacob Young also had a hit and an RBI.

For Trinidad, Peter Pena went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double, while Adam Purdy drove in two runs. Kendall Ford went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base. Jafet Palma earned the win after allowing one run on one hit with one walk and one strikeout in one inning. Aleiman Cruz took the loss for Trinidad, allowing two runs, two earned, and striking out seven in 2.2 innings. Roswell starter Jacob Young struck out seven but allowed seven runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings.
