June 4 2024 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 11-3 at Central Park, collecting 13 hits to Santa Fe’s nine. Trinidad took control with three runs in the first inning and added single runs in the fourth sixth and seventh before breaking the game open with three runs in the eighth. Santa Fe scored once in the fifth eighth and ninth innings.
Jordan Anderson led Trinidad’s offense by going 3-for-5 with two runs and four RBI. Chris Lopez went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI, while Adam Purdy added three hits, two runs, one RBI and a walk. Humberto Maldonado also homered and finished with one hit two runs and one RBI. For Santa Fe, Jeremy DiBartolomeo went 3-for-5 with one RBI, and Ryuya Enomoto was 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Josh Mendez earned the win for Trinidad after allowing one earned run on five hits over five innings while striking out eight and walking one. Spencer Pellegrini, Paul Mendoza, Julio Gonzalez and Armando Duran combined to cover the final four innings, with Trinidad pitchers totaling 16 strikeouts. Santa Fe starter Tristan Cavazos took the loss after surrendering six earned runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings.
