SnowSox Rally Past Triggers 13-3

June 3 2022 The Colorado Springs SnowSox defeated the Trinidad Triggers 13-3 at Central Park, overcoming an early three-run deficit. Trinidad scored twice in the first inning and added another run in the second, but Colorado Springs answered with three runs in the third and one in the fourth before breaking the game open with a nine-run seventh inning.

Rory Graf-Brennen led the SnowSox offense with three hits, three RBI and two runs. Cristian Sanchez added one hit and three RBI, while M. Flohr drove in two runs and Will Thomas had one RBI. Colorado Springs finished with seven hits and drew 12 walks.

Trinidad received home runs from Zach May and Peter Pena. May went 1-for-4 with two RBI, and Pena went 2-for-3 with one RBI. The Triggers also collected seven hits but committed three errors, including three by shortstop David Arza.

Tyler Fisher earned the win for Colorado Springs after allowing five hits and three runs over seven innings while striking out 10 and walking three. Ryan Brown pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Derrick Sylve took the loss for Trinidad, surrendering six runs, five earned, on three hits in 6 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts and eight walks. Joel Ballard was charged with seven runs in one-third of an inning during Colorado Springs’ decisive seventh-inning outburst.
