Alpine Cowboys Cruise Past Trinidad Triggers 12-2

June 29 2021 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Trinidad Triggers 12-2, scoring in five different innings and finishing with a 12-11 advantage in hits. Alpine took control with four runs in the second inning, added single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh, then broke the game open with five runs in the ninth. Trinidad scored both of its runs in the fifth inning.

Chandler Hughes led Alpine’s offense with two hits, three runs and four RBI, including a home run. Christian Armstrong went 4-for-6 with three runs, while Calvin Graves collected three hits. Dylan Nolan added two hits and two RBI, and Alex Canty scored twice and drove in a run. Alpine also received RBI from Jake Thomas and Jonathan Triesler.

Jake Thomas earned the win after allowing six hits and two earned runs over five innings, with two walks and six strikeouts. Jonathan Triesler struck out two in two scoreless innings, and Jake Woods added three strikeouts over two scoreless innings. Joel Ballard took the loss for Trinidad after allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits in 1.1 innings.
