July 24 2019 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Garden City Wind 10-1 in a seven-inning game at Clint Lightner. Trinidad scored in five innings, building an early lead with one run in the first, three in the second and three more in the fourth before adding two in the sixth and one in the seventh. Garden City scored its lone run in the seventh.
Thomas Jefferies IV and
Abel Arocho each collected three hits for the Triggers. Jefferies IV drove in two runs, while Arocho finished with three RBI, and
Tim Henry added two RBI. Trinidad totaled 13 hits, including doubles by
Scott Stetson, Arocho and
Nick Stoll.
Keaton Conner added two hits and an RBI, while
Nick Shumpert scored twice.
Conner earned the win with a complete seven-inning performance, allowing five hits and one run while striking out six and walking four.
Rich Edwards took the loss for Garden City after allowing 10 hits and seven runs, six earned, in 3.1 innings.
Kyle Koppenhoefer followed with 1.2 scoreless innings, and Garden City finished with five hits overall.
