Trinidad Triggers Rally Past Roswell Invaders 10-3

July 19 2019 The Trinidad Triggers overcame an early deficit with a 10-3 victory over the Roswell Invaders. Trinidad finished with nine hits and one error while Roswell had seven hits and three errors.

Roswell scored all three of its runs in the second inning to take an early 3-0 lead. Trinidad answered with two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to move in front 4-3. The Triggers added two runs in the sixth three in the seventh and one in the eighth to pull away.

Thomas Jefferies IV paced Trinidad with a home run one hit two runs and two RBI while Abel Arocho and Jakob Shuler each drove in two runs. Alejandro Diaz also had two RBI and Trey Bigford added one. N. Shumpert collected two hits including a double and scored twice. For Roswell James Garnett hit a two-run homer and Austin Maltby added a solo home run.

Calvin Luk earned the win for Trinidad after allowing seven hits and three earned runs in seven innings. He walked three and struck out eight. Ryan Patrick and Ronald Gutierrez each worked a scoreless inning in relief. Roswell starter Derrick Sylve took the loss after giving up eight hits and nine runs in six innings with five earned runs four walks and two strikeouts.
